Title: EPG.
Post by: Gregree on April 27, 2015, 02:43 PM
Hello all. I've had my ME mini for approx 1 week now. Was just wondering about the EPG. It currently does not display anything on any channel!! Is this not supposed to work!? It is listed as a feature of the ME mini on the Angel Electronics website - Advanced Electronics Program Guide! Well I would hardly consider it advanced when it does not work at all! And also, I read somewhere on another thread about re-booting issues after changing channels - and how this can perhaps be solved by shutting off EPG in advanced settings or something? How do you access this EPG setting to turn it off? And any help on the non existent EPG would be appreciated as well.
                                                                     Thanks & regards.    :)

It only works if the channel broadcasts information.. i have not found any channels that broadcast much more than the station name..

thanks for the reply g17feedhunter. Yeah I read on the Digital Home forum that true FTA does not provide EPG info. This seems peculiar to me as I have a Channel Master CM 5020 antenna for OTA reception, and with this I am running a Channel Master DVR+ unit which does supply comprehensive EPG info for up to 2 weeks!! You would think that satellite systems would be able to supply EPG info if a simple OTA antenna can!!? Anyway thanks again. Regards.

The EPG guide does work for channels that broadcast EPG data over their satellite signal.  Unfortunately, most FTA channels don't do this so this is why you are not seeing any information.

However, we are working on the implementation of an Internet based EPG service which would provide guide data if your receiver is connected to the Internet.  This is how your Channel Master DVR+ unit is getting 2 week guide info as normally, OTA stations only supply a few day's worth of EPG data.

PwrSurge - So, do you have any timeline as to when this internet based EPG will be up and running for the Azbox ME mini?
