I'm looking to upgrade my old traxis4000 FTA receiver.

If purchased now, does the Minime already come with the latest firmware? or does the box require tinkering and firmware updating and is this even necessary to get the best performance?

Are the satellites/transponders up to date and which position are listed?

Follow up is are the firmware updates done via local network connection or satellite?

What integrated internet aps comes with minime?

I think it needs to be upgraded.. when I got it at Dr. Sat in Oakville he upgraded it right there in the store for me. I would recommend Dr. Sat to anyone, excellent customer service. The AZBox however seems to be a bit flaky.. dont get me wrong I love it.. but it does sometimes reboot after a blind scan and so on.. it also does not work as PVR as it promises (for me at least)... I cant get it to record.. see my other thread.

The firmware should already be upgraded to the latest 2.05 version as of right now as we had this done at all our authorised dealers in order to avoid kernel upgrade issues.

Satellites are fairly up to date with all receivable North American satellites from 177.0W to 0.8W separated by band.

Firmware updates can be made via USB or the Internet on network connected receivers.  Integrated Internet apps include Youtube, Online radio player and coming soon, IPTV :)

Do these decode the feeds that broadcast in 4.2.0 and 4.2.2 like some of the other azbox models? Since it has integrated aps does the box support adobe flash and come with a browser too?

Yes, the AzBox miniMe American Edition can receive all of the transmission formats supported by older AzBox models such as AzBox Elite, AzBox Ultra or AzBox Premium HD Plus.

Unfortunately, there is no support for adobe flash but we are working on adding more Internet content other than Youtube and the online radio player in an upcoming firmware update.
